How
do I describe Main Hoon Na? Let's see. It begins like
a Jerry Bruckheimer action flick. It transforms into a Kuch
Kuch Hota Hai kind of campus caper. It develops into an emotional
Deewar. It goes back into the Bruckheimer mould only to end
like the musical Grease.
Offscreen:
You are still adjusting your creaky chair ensuring that the
popcorn doesn't slip out of your hands.
 Onscreen:
A television show is taken over by a bunch of terrorists,
their leader Raghavan shoots Major Shekhar Sharma (Naseeruddin
Shah) when the latter tries to protect General Bakshi (Kabir
Bedi). His son, also a major, Ram Prasad (Shah Rukh Khan),
makes an Ethan Hunt-style entry amidst a lot of gunshots,
firing, mid-air diving, the works.
Bottom
line: Bang! Bang! Bang! The plot unfolds at a bullet's pace.

Main Hoon Na comes in
as the latest 'feel-good' flick from the house of Red Chillies
Entertainment and Venus that is about to storm the box-office
in a couple of months. With a mega star-cast; Farah Khan (who
doesn't need any introduction) making her directorial debut
and the music department being handled by Anu Malik
and Javed Akhtar, what one expects is not less than
a rip-roaring musical journey.
Title track 'Main Hoon Naa'
has everything going in its favour. Lilting melody, meaningful
lyrics, wonderful cinematography and last but not the least,
it comes straight after another Shah Rukh Khan hit - title
song of 'Kal Ho Na Ho'. Here too, Shah Rukh Khan carries this
song well all by himself and sets stage for yet another chartbuster
in his career. Sonu Nigam is simply excellent while
carrying with him the super form he was in 2003 whereas Shreya
Goshal gives good support in this beautifully written
song by Javed Akhtar. A definite hit all the way! A remix
of the same composed by Ranjit Barot also makes an
appearance but it is mainly an instrumental rather than a
song and is mainly situational that should appear in the background.

Main Hoon Na Trivia

- Actress
Tabu and director Karan Johar also appear in the Shahrukh
starrer. Close buddies of Farah Khan, both Tabu and Karan
Johar appear at different instances in the film. However,
both have just blink-it-and-disappear bits in the films.
- In
fact, worried director Farha Khan thought there wasn't enough
romance between the two and has shot a hot romantic duet
with the couple just two weeks before release!
- The song, 'Chale Jaise Hawaien',
is a one shot song. Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan rehearsed
for months to get their steps right... and boy they sure
did. The song is canned in one shoot with a steadycam and
they got it right in five takes.
- Hrithik Roshan was to play
the second lead in the film initially. But due to some problems,
Hrithik Roshan opted out of the film after one day of shooting.
Sohail Khan was then considered for the role. Even Farhan
Akhtar was on Farah's wish list. However, Zayed Khan was
finally roped in.
- Latest buzz, Farah and 27-year
old model Pravin Sirohi are said to be an item. Interestingly,
Pravin makes his Bollywood debut in Main Hoon Na. He plays
a college student and claims that it's an important role
